Yevgeniy Aleksandrovich Nikulin, the 29 year old Russian who is accused of hacking social media giants, and Dropbox is denying all accusations following his arrest in Prague last October on charges relating to the massive data breach at LinkedIn in 2012. Nikulin attended a court hearing held inside a high security prison in Prague on Tuesday 30th May looking visibly gaunt after eight months of solitary confinement. The court ruled that the final decision of  would be left in the hands of Robert Pelikan, a Czech Justice Minister who will decide to extradite Nikulin to the United States or Russia.

As it stands, The United States has requested extradition for stealing information from several American based social networking companies, including: LinkedIn, Dropbox, and Formspring, between March 2012 to July 2012. However, the lesser of two evils is definitely Russia, where Nikulin is a significantly smaller charge of Cyber theft for stealing $3,450 via the Internet in 2009

Nikulin was arrested last October, just three days before the United States officially accused Russia of hacking the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and interfering in the 2016 presidential election. Nikulin’s lawyer insists the entire case is a set-up and that his arrest may have deeper inclinations than over the cyber-attacks against American firms.
